Great Dog Toy
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I’ve bought 3 of these in the past 1.5 years. The first one came home with my new 10 week old standard poodle.
It stayed in great shape for the first year until we adopted a 1 year old chihuahua. She is a TOY killer. The ducks are both still playable but she ripped at a seam until it finally broke open. One is in decent shape, the other is deflated. The 3rd one is MIA and I suspect she’s hidden it. lol
I’ve thrown them in the washer a lot, but we warned that after a few dryer trips the quacker will no longer work. They wash up great though.
So, I’d rate them a 2-4 for durability. It really does depend on your dog. My poodle never destroyed toys until the chihuahua came along. Now she does it too- every stuffed toy.
They are well made, but if you have a persistent toy killer it will eventually get ruined.
Cute toy

My dog loves this toy! I purchased a similar one for him at Walmart that was a little larger. I returned to the store and was unable to find any more of them so I ordered several of the Hartz Quackers Ducks. He should have enough to last for quite some time.
Loved it, but ate it

Bailee is a small beagle, like 15 pounds. This was a somewhat considerable toy for her size, but she loves larger stuffed toys over the smaller ones. I thought this seemed like a pretty great toy (with the ‘life-like’ duck sounds.) Bailee loved it too, but it only lasted about 3 days before she got the squeeker out. She has tons of toys, and has only gotten the squeeker out of a couple. So needless to say, I won’t buy this again, but she did love it.
garbage – falls apart instantly

I bought this for my 1-year-old pug and he was into the neck and stuffing in 10 minutes flat. I figured it was a bad one but after buying another different Hartz dog toy that looks sturdy but fell apart immediately, I had to find these and make sure no one else wasted their money on them. Absolute trash.
save your money

These are very cute but they don’t stand up to dog-play. My corgi eviscerated the Hartz toys within minutes. I have found the only stuffed toys that last are the AKC or the CKC brands.
Duck Toy

My German Shepard loves the Duck sound that comes from the toy ! It’s nice to give your dog a variety of sounds when purchasing toy’s for them.
Get the Jakks duck instead

I purchased a Marley & Me branded quacking duck toy awhile ago and my two puppies loved it and it was incredibly durable. Then on vacation, they lost it somewhere. So when I got home I went to buy another one to replace the one that was lost (from the same retailer, which was not Amazon) and all I could find was this Hartz Quacker at about the same price. Not really remembering who made the first one, I figured this was the same thing just not under the Marley & Me brand, so I bought it. My two dogs (both puppies) destroyed it within a few hours, ripping the belly open and emptying it of all it’s stuffing and the quacking mechanism.
Thinking this was a fluke, I returned it to the retailer for another and literally, within an hour, one foot was torn off. Then a little while later the belly was torn open and the contents were all over the house. I complained to Hartz this time and got a standard boilerplate response full of platitudes and nothing else.
So I decided to seek out a duck like the one I originally had and finally figured out it was manufactured by Jakks. I found one here on Amazon for a good price and ordered it and they’ve had it now for over a week and all that has happened to it is they’ve chewed the tags off of it. Otherwise it’s holding up well to daily abuse and it is again their favorite toy. Thanks Jakks and Amazon. Shame on you Hartz.
Great toy. Good squeaker while it lasts.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Our 10-week old corgi puppy absolutely LOVES this toy. The squeaker sounds just like a real duck. After 5 days of almost constant play, the squarker is nearly dead and has a very weak quack. However, he still loves chewing on it and going duck hunting. Even with his sharp puppy teeth, the duck is still in tact and has no rips or tears. Execellent toy and we will buy another!
Fun for your lab, but doesn’t last forever

Our lab also loves these ducks. They are better than the version without wings. Unfortunately our little guy has taken to chewing off the duck’s face. Despite the destruction, this toy has lasted longer for us than most dog toys. It is still fun and I can’t seem to stop buy him a new one.
Love it!

Our 2 Labs have been through a few of these and LOVE THEM! We have been through 3 of them though because they play tug of war with it because they both want the duck and it does end up ripping, and they still continue to drag it around after all the stuffing has been pulled out…something about this toy makes it their favorite, with or without the stuffing. They really love the ‘honker’ inside too!
Retriever’s best buddy
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
We just got a new golden retriever puppy and I had ordered this toy for him. I thought it might be a bit large for him at first, but within a day, it has become his favorite toy because he can grab it by the neck or wing and swing it around with his head – great fun! He likes to sleep on top of it as a pillow, and also loves laying down with it and biting on the torso to make the duck quack. I hope it lasts a while!
2 year old Yellow Lab Loves it!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My lab loves her duck and carries it everywhere.. The Duck is larger than I expected and the sound is very realistic. My dog has had her duck for about 2 months now and all is well. I plan on buying another one!
disappointed
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Got this and was immediately disappointed – I couldn’t make it produce a noise and naturally the pup had to run over and help me. She wasn’t able to make it quack either. She likes chasing it, but we both were disappointed in the silence.

This is my Chocolate Labs most favorite toy. I have pruchased him many of these. He will fall asleep with it in his mouth!
Dog loves the duck

I got one for my Mom’s dog. She is a one year old Boxer.
She absolutely loved it. She carried it everywhere. Every time anyone would come over. She would put it in their lap and show it off.
But she destroyed it in a week or two.
So I bought her another one for Christmas and I also purchased another one for my father-in-law’s dog.
Quacker

A Christmas gift for my favorite dog – it was clear immediately that I had made the right choice. The “quack” is very realistic and my 4 legged friend loves it.
Takes a beating and keeps on quacking

I have two of these duckc, my dogs love them. I personally do not like buying the dogs stuffed animals becuase their goal is to destroy them and leave filling scattered through out the house. I have owned these ducks for over 2 years and my dogs play with them frequently. They have been through the wash countless times, always come out clean (use little detergent on hot for full cycle, then run full cycle, hot again using no detergent add 2 cups vinegar where you put the bleach. The vinegar removes all the remaining detergents leaving the toy safe for your dog, it will not smell of vinegar, it will rinse away in final rinse).
These two ducks have out lasted countless number of toys and have not rip on them. The only down side is when the two of them fight over one. That can be a bit annoying with all the quacking.
This is a great toy, I recommend it for all dogs, it a must have in my opinion. Its cheap but not cheaply made. I have never seen any other dog stuffed animal toy last as long as these two ducks.
Dog has lots of fun

I bought this for a friends’s puppy, a mix of lab and pointer and she absolutely loves it and goes crazy with it.
Lab loves it
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
My lab loves it, although mine came with a blue neck, not like the one in the picture. He broke the squeeker in it within 3 days but he always does that. Great toy!
Is this for dogs or for children?
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought this for our 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier and within the first 2 minutes of him playing with it, he began tearing off pieces of the feathery, fabric tail. In fact, a few minutes later I had to take scissors to it and cut the tail off because it was shedding strings all over the place and our pup was choking on it.
He got the toy duck back and really likes it, but 2 days in he’s now ripped a few holes in it and taken some stuffing out, so we’ve had to take it away. He only got it during supervised play time, and only for a few hours here and there, so there’s no excuse for it being destroyed this quickly.
Whoever came up with this “dog” toy either doesn’t own a dog or has the laziest dog around, because I felt like it was put together for kids and not dogs. If you want to waste $6 on a toy that won’t last a week, feel free to buy the Hartz Quackers duck toy.
my dogs favorite
definitely worth it, especially for the not so aggressive hunter.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
this duck was basically my puppy’s first love; he really enjoyed this duck, the very real duck sounds it made and the way it felt when he carried it around from the neck. Despite the fact that my dog destroys all things plush within minutes, this one is the winner of the plush tough toys for us. No, it’s still not intact, but, it took him a couple of months to finally destroy it. Yes, we had to sew it up a few times at the beak/eyes and tummy. but, it was worth it. He loved this toy and if it weren’t for the vet banning plush toys from my puppy, I would buy multiple ducks for him to hunt

my dog LOVES these. unfortunately she kills the squeeker after a couple months and this makes her really mad…so i have to buy a new one.
